Description
Capel y Craig is a 19th-century chapel featuring a distinctive architectural style. On the left gable end facing Graig Fach, there is a broad blocked doorway at the center and a smaller blocked doorway to the left. Above these, there are three-light cusped Gothic gallery windows, similar to those on the front, and roof ventilators at the top. The right gable end facing Heol Powys has two windows, also with ground floor openings. The rear has four windows with similar glazing, though the ground floor is mostly obscured by a 1975 extension that is not in keeping with the original design.
The churchyard includes an obelisk-type memorial to John Evans of Morben and the tomb of David and Mary Griffiths. There are contemporary gates at both ends, each topped with finials.
Inside, the chapel has a rectangular galleried layout with a panelled front and cast iron columns. The ceiling features transverse ribs with small roses and ventilators, along with a quatrefoil dado band. A large organ case is situated over the set fawr, showcasing Gothic woodwork.
