Description
Pentregaer Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with a later 17th-century cross wing that was raised in the 18th century. The building features a timber frame with colourwashed infill and a slate roof. It originally had one storey but was raised to two storeys, with the two-storey cross wing located at the west end.
The north gable of the wing shows exposed lattice bracing, while the south gable is covered with weatherboarding over similar framing from the 20th century. The side wall of the wing is made of stone. The main range includes a blocked door with a Tudor arch doorhead at the east end of the south wall, opposite the stack. The framing appears to be elevated above the bressumer level, featuring large panels made of light scantling timber. There is a later door at the south angle of the wing, which has since been removed, and the entrance is now located in a gabled porch on the cross wing. Various 20th-century windows have been added. There are also later farm buildings attached to the north side of the farmhouse.
The property was not accessible at the time of inspection.
