Description

46 High Street is a three-storey shop with three windows, featuring a painted brick front. The left elevation displays thin-scantling timber-framing with brick infill. The building has a hipped slate roof with boarded eaves and rectangular brick chimneys. The windows on the first and second floors have elliptical heads with plaster fan fluting, similar to those at Brookside in Vine Square. The first floor has small pane, mainly hornless sash glazing with eight panes, while the second floor has sixteen panes. On the ground floor, there are two later 19th-century shopfronts, each with double doors and rectangular overlights, flanked by windows. The shopfront is enhanced by classically inspired pilasters and a bracketed entablature with a modern fascia board. The left elevation again features small-scantling timber-framing with brick infill.
