Description
Glanrhyd is a two-storey cottage featuring a single-window main range. It is built from shaley rubble stone and topped with a light red artificial slate roof, which includes a dressed stone stack at the right end. Architectural details include stone quoins, segmental stone voussoirs above the openings, and plain barge boards. The cottage faces south-west towards the pool and is encircled on three sides by a veranda. At the rear, there is a single-storeyed gabled wing. The rustic-style veranda has a light-red artificial slate roof supported by paired round timber posts, with low openwork fencing featuring diagonal struts between the posts. The front entrance is offset to the right and includes a door with a shuttered glazed upper panel. To the left of the entrance is a window with boarded shutters. On the upper storey, above the veranda, there is a single two-light plain-glazed wooden casement window, offset to the left. The north-west elevation has a ground floor window with shutters, and there is another window with shutters on the same elevation of the rear wing, which also features a skylight on the rear roof pitch. The interior was not seen during the resurvey.
