Description
The Lodge is a building constructed in a Neo-vernacular style, heavily influenced by the work of John Douglas of Chester, although the architect remains unknown. The lower storey features roughly coursed and squared rubble, while the upper storey is half-timbered, topped with a red plain tiled hipped roof. The entrance is centrally located on the elevation that faces away from the street, flanked by casement windows. The gabled return displays a jettied upper storey, featuring a 4-light casement window with small panes on each floor, with the upper window situated beneath a gabled dormer. Similar windows are found to the right of the street elevation. The building has clustered brick axial and end wall stacks with corbelled caps. Additionally, there is a single-storey service wing with a hipped roof extending from the far gable.
