Description
The screen wall and towers define the south stable yard and are designated as a Grade II listed structure. The screen begins on the west with a small circular turret topped with a conical roof, situated at the top of the ramp wall. The screen wall leading to the next turret features a high parapet with widely spaced crenels above a raised walkway at the rear, which provides access to two intermediate small rectangular towers that have hipped slate roofs. Beyond the second tower, the screen wall follows the curve of a large semicircular bastion, returning to the line at the eastern end, where there is a terminal turret. The wall then continues back to the end of the stable block.
