Description

The sundial in the east garden features a striking stone baluster shaft with a necking ring and a round ogee-moulded capital. Atop the capital is a bronze plate and gnomon, which is inscribed with the words "I MARK ONLY THE SHINING HOURS." The shaft rests on a moulded foot and is situated on a circular stone platform made of slabs.
