Description

The stone sundial located in front of Hawk House in the east garden is designed as a well-proportioned baluster. It stands on a four-way incurved moulded base, which is placed on a circular plinth. The shaft features a necking ring and a turned circular capital that supports a brass double horizontal dial plate with a gnomon. The dial plate is engraved with the Myddleton arms, a months dial, and the equations of the natural days.
