Description
This building is a house attached to a school room, designed in the Tudor-Gothic Revival style and constructed from sandstone rubble with a dressed stone plinth, quoins, and window surrounds. It features a slate roof and stone chimneys. The elevation facing the road includes a gabled school room on the left, which has stone copings and a ball finial, a central studded door, and a window with curvilinear quatrefoil tracery above it. The attached house is set back and is two stories high, with a gable that has stone copings and a damaged finial, as well as cast-iron casement windows. There is also a rendered two-story 20th-century extension.
The walls leading to the schoolyard step down and are accompanied by railings and a gate, continuing to the right and returning with an altered gate pier. The left-hand return of the school room features two tall four-light mullioned windows. At the rear, the school room has a 20th-century garage opening, with a mullioned and transomed window above it, and a square recess in the gable that contains a damaged carving of the Williams-Wynn heraldic eagle. The attached school house on the left has a gabled range with two-light mullioned windows and a door, along with an advanced gabled wing that has one two-light mullioned window on each floor.
Inside, the school room boasts an exposed timber roof with king post trusses, while the house retains its original plan form and stair.
