Kingsmills Bridge over River Gwenfro

Kingsmill Bridge is the main bridge over the River Gwenfro. It is constructed from coursed and squared yellow sandstone and features a moulded cornice above a single arch. The arch has channelled voussoirs and a heavy keystone. Each side of the bridge has stepped abutments that end in square-section outer piers. The parapet has shallow copings. A curved wall connects this bridge to a smaller bridge that crosses the River Gwenfro at a right angle, located immediately to the east. The linking wall is made of rougher coursed and squared stone, while the parapet and masonry of the second bridge are well coursed and squared. This second bridge also has a single span and is built on a shallow concave curve. It features a plain string course above the archway, which is inscribed with a date, and has heavy stone blocks for the parapet, which also has shallow copings.
