Description
Argoed Farmhouse is a 19th-century brick building with a slate roof featuring coped gables and end wall stacks. The main section of the house is two stories high and has a two-window range with a central entrance. There is a single-story integral wing that extends the building line to the west, along with an original two-story wing at the rear. The central entrance is located in an added gabled porch and is flanked by four-pane sash windows with flat-arched heads on both floors. While these sash windows are 19th-century additions, some earlier windows, which are now blocked, can still be seen at the rear of the main range, and there is one original window opening in the rear wing, featuring a cambered brick head. A plain string course runs between the storeys and above the first floor. The eaves band has been renewed in the main part of the house, but the original dentilled band remains in the single-story wing to the west.
