Description

The gate screen at the east end of Gwysaney is designed in a simple Baroque style and is made of wrought iron. It features a central single gate flanked by panels, all of which include dog rails topped with spear finials. Above the gate, there is an overthrow adorned with scrollwork, repoussee foliage, and small cast iron finials. The screen is framed by openwork piers that have scrollwork cresting and fretwork panels. The outer side railings are also topped with spear finials, along with higher scrolled finials positioned at intervals.
