Description

The gate and gate piers at the southeast end of the arboretum at Gwysaney are designed in a simple Baroque style. The wrought iron gate features dog rails topped with spear finials, and beneath the top rail, there is a fretwork panel. The gate also has a scrolled overthrow that includes repousse foliage and cast iron finials. The openwork piers are adorned with elaborate scrolled cresting, which includes some repousse work.
