Description

Pen-yr-erw is a single-unit cottage built in a cube plan, featuring an integral rear outshut under a catslide roof. The exterior is made of whitened rubble stone, topped with a slate roof and a stone stack on the left, which has been heightened in brick. The doorway on the right has a boarded door, while to its left is a casement window with a segmental head, which has replaced an original window opening. The upper storey includes a 4-pane horizontal sliding sash window located beneath the eaves. On the left gable end, there is a segmental-headed opening leading to the outshut, which has a shutter. The right gable end features an L-shaped outbuilding that is continuous with the outshut, constructed of rubble stone and covered with a slate and corrugated iron roof. The rear of the cottage is built into the bank.
