Description

Gerddiduon is a 2-storey house dating from the 18th century, featuring a roughcast exterior and a slate roof with coped gables supported by moulded kneelers. The house has end stacks with two diagonal brick shafts set on stone bases. It has three windows, each with three lights and wooden mullions, all beneath exposed stone wedge lintels. A central gabled porch has open timber sides on a blockwork dwarf wall and is adorned with bands of fish-scale slates. The porch includes a panelled door with a simple overlight and wedge lintel. The right gable end is pebble-dashed and has a lean-to structure against the rear outshut, which is also pebble-dashed and features a tall brick stack. The continuous rear outshut is whitewashed and has a boarded door, with a horizontal sliding sash window on the left, a replaced window on the right, and another horizontal sash at the right end. The right end wall of the outshut has a boarded door under a stone lintel.

Attached to the left gable end of the house is a stable and cart shed constructed from rubble stone with tooled dressings and a slate roof. This structure is set back and has all its openings on the rear elevation facing the yard. The right end features a double cart shed doorway with a timber lintel and a central cast iron column. Other openings have segmental heads, and the windows are fitted with small-pane iron-frame glazing that includes sliding vents and stone sills. There are two boarded stable doors with windows to their right, and a central doorway has been inserted under a concrete lintel. The loft above has two shuttered openings with sills, and there is a half dormer above the cart shed with a horizontal sliding sash window.
