Description
Greenfields is a simple Gothic style two-storey cottage built from tooled snecked stone with freestone dressings. It features a symmetrical two-window front and a slate roof. A central yellow-brick ridge stack has vertical ribs and a corbelled cap. The cottage has mullioned windows, with three lights in the lower storey and two lights above, all adorned with hood moulds. The central doorway includes a panelled door and an overlight, with a lintel engraved '1841 PDC'. A gabled canopy, supported by corbelled wooden brackets, projects from the entrance and is covered with bands of fish-scale slates. Each gable end has a two-light window in the upper storey. At the rear, there is a centrally placed gabled wing that features a boarded door under a lean-to canopy on wooden brackets, a two-light window to its right, and a similar window in the upper storey. The right side wall has a two-light window in the upper storey and a replaced window below in an original opening. The left side wall contains single-light windows at the angle with the main range. The building has not been inspected.
