Description
Tan yr Allt is a Tudor-Gothic cottage built in the 19th century, featuring one-and-a-half storeys constructed from snecked rubble stone with lighter freestone dressings. The cottage has a slate roof with projecting boarded eaves and two diagonal yellow-brick ridge stacks that have corbelled caps. At the front, there is a central shallow porch that is gabled and adorned with bargeboards and a finial. Above the boarded door, there is a hood mould engraved with 'PDC 1830'. On either side of the porch, there are three-light mullioned windows, each with its own hood mould. Similar windows can be found in the attic on both gable ends.
At the rear, there is an added L-shaped wing that incorporates a former stable; this wing is made of stone but has been heightened with brick. It connects to a shallow lean-to at the back of the cottage, which features a stone tablet engraved with 'RD 1750'.
