Description

Hillside Cottage is a two-storey estate cottage built of rendered red-brick, topped with a distinctive fishscale pattern red-tiled roof and featuring a central chimney stack. The windows on the north and east elevations are all semi-circular headed openings with stopped drip-stones. The glazing patterns showcase interlaced Gothick tops and latticed lozenge patterns below, which are similar in design to the other improvements made by James Collinge to the Kinnerton Lodge estate in the 1880s. The main doorway is located on the north elevation and is set beneath an open triangular pediment, featuring a six-panelled door. To the south, there is a single-storey extension, while the eastern elevation has modern windows.
