Description
The stables at Kinnerton Lodge are a stable block designed in a U-plan. The principal block, located to the west, is two storeys tall and features a centrally planned layout with a slightly projecting central section topped by a triangular pediment that has a weathervane at its apex. The building is constructed from random stone with some brick dressings. It includes a hayloft that has two circular pitching holes, and the doors and windows have segmental heads. The windows are filled with a distinctive lattice pattern of leading. There is a dormer window on the western hip of the roof, decorated in a Gothic Revival style, and an off-centred brick chimney stack.
The eastern block is a single storey, made of rendered brick and covered with a slate roof. On the northern side, there are cart openings, while the southern side features a boarded door with a plain glazed fanlight and a three-light mullion window. Later, double garage doors were added to the southern elevation. Connecting the two ranges is a later single storey cart shed and workshop, constructed of brick and also covered with a slate roof. Above the four-panel door to the workshop is another Gothic Revival dormer, and to the side, there is a large eight-light mullioned window.
