Description
Homewood Lodge is a lodge cottage built in the late 19th century. It is constructed of red brick, which was originally partly exposed but is now completely rendered. The first floor features applied timber framing and two panels of fishscale tiles. The roof is made of clay tiles, accented with bands of fishscale tiles. The original structure is a two-storey L-plan that jetties at the first floor and is designed in the Jacobean style.
The left-hand block has a four-light window on the ground floor and a three-light window on the first floor. The right-hand gable features a three-light window on the first floor. All windows are fitted with mullions and transoms, showcasing octagonal and diamond leaded lights. The ground floor of the right-hand gable forms a porch supported by substantial moulded timbers and side balusters, with a 20th-century door. The left-hand block includes a red brick chimney stack with three linked shafts. There are also 20th-century two-storey additions at the rear.
