Description
Melin y Glyn is an L-shaped, two-storey mill building built from random stone and covered with corrugated asbestos roofs. The windows and doors are in their original positions but were renewed in the early 20th century with concrete lintels. The building features metal-framed windows with ventilators and stone sills. The earliest section of the mill is oriented north-south, while a later block added to the southwest is oriented east-west.
The front of the earlier section, which faces west, has split doors on the left and an upper storey window on the right. The rear side, facing east, features a central raised doorway with split doors. The south gable end was modified when the later block was built, and the ridge of its hipped roof continues with the later range. This elevation includes a boarded hatch at mid-level, while there are no openings on the north gable end.
On the west gable end of the later block, there is a doorway on the left accessed by stone steps, which has been infilled with corrugated iron sheeting. To the right of this doorway is a window, with another window aligned above it. There are no openings on the south side, and the north side was not visible during the inspection. Access to the interior was not available at the time of inspection.
