Description

This building, located at the rear of No 21 High Street, is a house and shop dating from the 19th century. It stands two-and-a-half storeys tall and is constructed of rendered rubble and brick, featuring stucco quoins and architraves. The roof is shallow-pitched and covered with slate, topped by a simple 19th-century brick chimney on the right side.

On the ground floor, there is a modern shop front installed in the 20th century, which includes three multi-pane shallow bow windows and a small-pane part-glazed door to the right. Above this, a moulded and dentilated cornice supports a shallow slated canopy, which is held up by three shaped brackets. The first floor features two paired 4-pane Victorian sash windows with plain shared surrounds. The upper floor has two 4-pane casement windows set within round-arched openings, which have stucco surrounds and expressed keys. These windows are located within shallow gabled dormers that have simply-moulded bargeboards and shaped wooden finials.

The interior of the building was not inspected during the survey.
