Description
The hayshed at Branas Uchaf is a three-bay structure with an open front, built from rubble stone and topped with an old graded slate roof. The front features plain square piers that separate the bays. Originally, the rear was also open, but it has since been infilled with rubble stone. The east gable includes a loft hatch with a large stone lintel and brick infill. A small addition, likely a harness room, was later constructed at the west end. This addition is also made of rubble stone and has a slate roof, featuring a central boarded door with an unglazed overlight. The rear of this addition has a central window that has been infilled with corrugated sheeting. Inside, the hayshed is open to the roof, supported by light tie-beam trusses with struts that are nailed rather than pegged.
