Description

The farmyard group at Rhyd-y-marchogion includes a main range that extends north to south, running parallel to the road. This range is constructed of rubble limestone and has a slate roof with a tile ridge. A large door is located near the centre, facing the farmhouse, with a smaller door positioned to its right. Attached to the main range on the farmyard side is a lower lofted range built from similar materials. This range has two doors and two windows facing north towards the farmyard, and a single glazed loft window above. An outside staircase is fixed against the gable end of this range, leading to the loft door. At the rear of the main range, there is a north-facing shelter shed, a smaller, later machinery shed centrally, and a low lean-to against the north gable of the main range. All of these are built from similar materials except the machinery shed, which has a corrugated roof. A pulley wheel, used for belt drive, remains on the rear face of the main range.
