Description
Rhyd-y-marchogion Farmhouse is a vernacular farmhouse built in local rubble masonry, facing north. It has a cream-painted exterior, a slate roof with a tile ridge, and brick end-chimney stacks. There is a similar rear service wing with a brick end-chimney stack. A small modern porch is located centrally at the front. The front elevation features a nearly symmetrical three-window arrangement with timber casements, brick segmental arches over the windows at the eaves, and brick sills. There is also an additional single-storey lean-to section against the right (west) gable wall, constructed with similar materials.
Attached to the rear service wing of the house is a cartshed range built in limestone rubble. This range has two large elliptical openings at the front for carts, each with a loft opening centrally above. To the right, there is a single door and window leading to a shed, likely a stable. Stairs are positioned against the left gable wall, providing access to the loft doorway.
The farmhouse is set apart from the farmyard by a garden, which is enclosed by a rubble limestone wall featuring river-worn stones as a rustic coping, and includes an iron gate. The interior has not been inspected.
