Description
Pont-yr-Alwen is a bridge constructed from local stone rubble. It features a single segmental arch made of rubble voussoirs that lack a pronounced keystone, along with a projecting regulating course. The ends of the arch curve sharply to meet the end piers. The parapet blends seamlessly with the spandrels and is topped with a 20th-century weathered concrete capping that has painted steel railings. Additionally, there are six iron tie bars that pass through the spandrels and end in rectangular plates.
