Description

The Eagles Building, which houses Fisherman's Chip Shop and Carolina's Ice Cream, is a two-storey commercial property featuring channelled rustication on the front and a slate roof adorned with tile cresting and a 20th-century brick stack positioned to the right of centre.

On the left side, the shop front for Fisherman's Chip Shop (No 3) includes a central replacement half-glazed door with an overlight, framed by Tuscan pilasters that support original large 4-pane sash windows typical of butchers' shops. Above these windows are iron grilles for ventilation, and there is an awning. The right side, which is the shop front for Carolina's Ice Cream (No 5), is modern, featuring a half-glazed door, a shop window, and a contemporary fascia.

The upper storey is marked by three sash windows set beneath dormer gables, each topped with moulded brick finials and ridge tiles. The central window has a configuration of four over two panes in the upper sash and a single-pane lower sash, while the outer windows consist of two over one panes. Flanking the central window are panels inscribed with the words 'Eagles Building'.
