Description
Eglwys Crist Addoldy'r Annibynnwyr is a chapel built from polygonal local limestone with ashlar dressings, featuring a distinctive timber-framed clerestory and a steep slated roof. The building consists of a nave with aisles on both sides and a steeple at the southeast corner. There is a vestry at right angles to the west end, which opens into Pleasant Place.
The chapel has four bays of paired lancet windows with moulded cast iron paned glazing. The clerestory features paired windows with a lozenge at the center of the iron glazing, which is now blank. Between each pair of windows, there is a weatherboard infilled trefoil panel. The tower rises above the main entrance, which is set in a moulded frame. It is supported by diagonal buttresses and has a tall upper stage with two lancets on each face, along with a short three-light bell stage. A stone cornice enriched with ballflowers forms the base of the broach spire. The eastern gable end displays three lancets, and above them, there are three quatrefoils in a large gable light, which is repeated above the vestry roof at the western end.
Inside, there is an impressive timber arcade of four bays, with braces to the arcade plates that support the open rafter roofs. The raised pulpit is located behind which is a painted arch over the organ, accompanied by a painted inscription around it. There is also a curved set fawr.
