Description
The Esplanade Hotel, located on Glan-y-Mor Parade, is a hotel that features a front elevation with ten windows, originally designed as five two-window houses, with the northernmost section slightly advanced and consisting of four windows. The building stands four storeys high with a basement. It is constructed of stucco and has a slate roof that is hipped to the north, along with a modillion cornice.
The northernmost two units each have two gabled dormer windows and brick chimneys. Each unit contains two sash windows on the top floor and two rectangular sash windows on the second floor. On the first floor, there is a canted bay window on the left that descends to the basement level, and a sash window on the right. The ground floor features round-headed doorways on the right. The third and fourth units have a 1930s metal-framed verandah with Art Deco detailing on the ground floor balustrade, with steps flanked by slender lamps. A dwarf wall with iron railings completes the exterior.
