Description
Carreg Frau is a two-storey house that has been extended to the right (west). The exterior features rough cast render, which is now painted white. The roof is made of graded courses of small grey and russet slates sourced from Gallt y Llan quarry in Snowdon, while the roof of the extension has grey graded slates. There are two groups of chimneys made of brown brick, each featuring a taller stack on the ridge and two lower stepped stacks. Most of the windows are modern replacements.
The front elevation includes a wall that rises into three gabled dormers, originally two, each with a small pane replacement window beneath a drip mould. The roof overhangs the front wall on corbels but is flush at the gable ends of the house. The roof slopes down to the right over a porch, which has a hipped roof to the left supported by a wooden post. There is a small pane window in the porch and another in the ground floor of the extension to the right of the porch. To the left of the porch, there is one smaller window and two larger windows, all featuring drip moulds. The left (west) elevation has a small pane metal casement window on the first floor, also with a drip mould above it. On the ground floor, there is a semi-hexagonal bay with a small slate roof and small pane metal casement windows.
