Description

1 and 3 Llawr Pentre are a pair of houses dating from the early 18th century. They are built with roughcast render over stone, with slate roofs and end wall stacks. The houses are two storeys high and have a four-window frontage. Number 1 is the longer of the two, with a doorway on the left and a four-pane sash window beside it. A further ground floor window and both upper windows are also sixteen-pane sashes, each set within a raised plaster architrave with angled heads. An extension was likely added in the later 19th century to the left of the doorway; this is rendered and has painted brick quoins. It is also two storeys high, continuing the roofline, and features openings only in the gable wall: paired, wide six-pane sash windows and a former doorway on the ground floor, with a narrow four-pane sash window above. Number 3 has a round-arched doorway with a radial fanlight – the door itself is modern – and sixteen-pane sash windows with shallow, segmentally arched heads on each floor.
