Description

This building on Vaughan Street is a Free Renaissance style structure, likely dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The front elevation rises three storeys with an attic. It is constructed of red brick with rendered panelling. The roof is slate-covered, pierced by two three-light dormers, the central lights of which are gabled. Rendered strapwork panelling decorates the facade above the second-floor windows. The upper floors feature two three-light sash windows on the second floor, and two three-light canted bay windows with pilasters, a cornice, and a parapet on the first floor. A plate glass shop front occupies the ground floor, with a house door located at the right-hand end. A two-bay cast-iron verandah, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, extends across the front, featuring columns with capitals, spandrils, and decorative cresting.
