Description

10 Vaughan Street is a building designed in the Free Renaissance style, featuring three storeys and an attic. It has two bays and is constructed of red brick with a rendered front elevation. The attic storey is highlighted by a wide pedimented gable, which is decorated with scrolls, pilasters, and a triangular pediment that includes dentils. There are two sash windows on this level, also flanked by scrolls. The second floor has two three-light sash windows, which are accompanied by pilasters and rendered strapwork panelling above them. On the first floor, there are two three-light bay windows, again with pilasters. The ground floor consists of a shop front, and there is a three-bay cast-iron veranda dating from the late 19th century to early 20th century, featuring a glazed roof. This veranda includes columns with capitals, spandrils, top cresting, and cresting on the lower soffits, with a gable above the central bay.
