Description

This building at 4 Vaughan Street is a three-story and attic structure built in a Free Renaissance style. It has two bays and a front elevation constructed of red brick with rendered panelling. The roof is slate, and it features two three-light dormers. The first floor has two three-light sash windows, along with two canted three-light bay windows featuring pilasters, cornices, and parapets. A plate glass shop front occupies the ground floor, with a house door positioned to the right. A two-bay veranda, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, extends from the front. This veranda is a continuation of verandas found at numbers 2 and 3 Vaughan Street and includes columns with capitals, decorative spandrils, a top cresting, and cresting on the lower soffits.
