22 Princess Bingo and Social Club

Princess Bingo and Social Club, located at 20-24 Princes Drive in Colwyn Bay, is a 20th-century building originally designed as a cinema. The exterior features a plain printed brick structure with a rendered facade, consisting of two storeys and three bays, with a prominent central section. A glass canopy supported by cast iron columns with ornamental rackets adorns the ground floor. The central entrance has been renewed, along with the shop front to the right. Above the canopy, the central block is decorated with sunk coupled lotus leaf pilasters that flank the low-set first-floor windows, which are set in a panel with a roughcast rendered surround. The building is topped with a splayed fluted cornice and a blocking course featuring an eagle in low relief. The outer bays contain paired tall windows set in roughcast rendered panels.

Inside, the original Art Deco interior remains largely intact, featuring an auditorium with a rear gallery and a stage. The walls are highlighted by ribbed pilasters, and there are decorative Art Deco grills over the side doors. The fluted columns supporting the gallery have Neo-Egyptian capitals. The ceiling is adorned with scrolled ribbed beams. Some original doors to the auditorium and former bar are present, showcasing stepped grids of glazing, along with original ceiling and wall lights in the auditorium.
