Description
The former oat kiln at Felin Isaf is a mid-19th century building made of rubble with a slate roof, standing two stories tall. It features modern leaded casement windows on the east side, with one window on each floor. There is external stepped access leading to the upper entrance on the south gable, while the lower entrance is located below to the right. An adjoining rubble extension is situated next to the stepped access on the south side.
Inside, the ground floor contains a central furnace with a brick ceiling that is splayed and ribbed, resembling a funnel or hopper. There is an access passage around all four sides of the furnace, and the floor is made of brick. The upper storey has a ceramic tiled drying floor specifically designed for drying oats.
