Description
Hafod is a building constructed of roughcast brick, featuring steeply-pitched hipped and half-hipped roofs made of graded slates with tiled ridges. It is a single storey plus attic structure with a symmetrical garden front facing west. The front has a central block with a hipped gable divided into two stages, flanked by lower wings that are advanced at angles. The central and flanking ranges have paired and single multi-pane French doors, with the flanking wings featuring narrow vertical outer windows; all of these are steel framed. The attic floor has a similar triple window at the center, and there is a central stepped brick chimney. The hipped gable ends of the wings have tripartite windows, and there are additional windows and French doors on the northeast and southeast sides in an asymmetrical arrangement. The building also features paired and triple dormer windows with flat lead roofs, and on the northeast entrance side, there is a tall, offset brick chimney. The interior is simple and utilitarian.
