Description
The cowhouse range at Argoed is a linear structure built from random rubble masonry, topped with a slate roof that features slate copings. The west gable includes an external flight of stone steps leading to a partially blocked doorway, which now contains a fixed 2-pane light. The main section of the range has two doorways in the center and a single window at the right end of the west elevation. Set back from the front (north) elevation at the left end is a lower two-unit block constructed in a similar style.
Inside the main part of the building, there is a modern roof. In the eastern block, the original roof structure remains intact, featuring two bays with rough hewn A-frame trusses, a massive beam, and natural purlins.
