Description
The workshop of R.L. Jones & Son is a two-storey building primarily constructed from corrugated iron for the walls and roof, set on a drystone plinth. It features small-pane wood and iron-frame windows where they are visible. The gable end, which faces the street, has plain barge boards and a finial. The rear of the building is made of coursed rubble stone and includes a stone stack.
The upper storey of the corrugated-iron section jetties out on both sides, supported by steel beams and featuring a boarded soffit. Some of the corrugated-iron sheets have been replaced. At the time of inspection, most ground-floor windows were boarded up. The street-facing side has a replacement door and window to the left, while the upper storey includes a boarded loading door flanked by small-pane windows. There is a workshop sign displaying the family name and phone number on the front of the building, positioned on either side of the upper-storey loading door.
On the left side wall, there are three windows in the lower storey and two above in the corrugated-iron section, along with a further small-pane window in the stone wall at the back. The right side wall retains a boarded door and window in the lower storey, and a small-pane window above in the stone section, while the corrugated-iron section has one lower storey window and previously had two upper-storey windows, one of which is now covered over.
