Description
Mannings Works is a workshop built in the mid-19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed from rubble and features a double Roman tile roof. The building is two storeys high and has a gabled design, with the main facade facing North Road. This facade includes a nearly continuous run of workshop glazing with vertical bars, situated above two pairs of plank doors. The gable end features a two-light casement window with vertical bars and a large loading bay door, along with a small blocked light and a 20th-century door. The rear of the building is attached to Nos 1 and 3, Oxford Place, but it extends further to the west, showcasing additional first-floor workshop glazing. The interior has not been inspected. This building is typical of small workshops that served the area and were historically linked to the quarrying industry.
