Description
Forden House is a two-storey, three-window house with a weaving loft and loading bay added to the left end in the mid-19th century. The building is three storeys high and constructed from coursed rubble masonry. It features a gently pitched quarry slate roof with plain eaves and close verges, along with stone stacks and water tabling.
The second floor has shallow windows set under the eaves, which have modern glazing. There is a former loading door under a gablet at the extreme left, now converted into a window with a concrete lintel. The first floor has three Victorian sash windows with stone lintels. The loading bay on the left has a modern window with a concrete lintel. There was formerly a central doorway on the ground floor, which has a slate hood on an iron bracket and a modern door. To the right, there is a 16-pane sash window similar to the one on the left, but with the lower glazing bars reduced to one. There is also a modern door to the loading bay at the extreme left, which has a concrete lintel.
