Description

Tollgate Cottage, also known as Cerdwyd, is a house built in the simplified Gothic style typical of the later 19th century work by the Tan-y-bwlch estate. It is constructed of rubble with a slate roof that features eaves projecting on brackets and a central stack with a diagonal shaft. The house has one and a half storeys and a T-shaped plan with an advanced central gable. This gable contains a two-light casement window on each floor. There are doorways in the flanking bays and casement windows in the gable ends. All openings are adorned with drop-ended hood-moulds. The interior was not inspected during the survey conducted in June and July 2003.
