Description
The stable block located to the north of The Grapes Hotel is a lofted stable range constructed from roughly coursed boulder masonry, featuring large stones used as lintels over the ground floor openings. It has a slate roof with overhanging eaves and verges. The main facade faces east towards the road, with the doorway positioned to the left (south). This doorway consists of a boarded door topped by a shallow overlight with glazing bars. To the right are two ground floor windows, which have four-pane lights above hit and miss ventilators. An additional feature on the far right is a drain at ground level. On the first floor, there is a boarded pitching door located towards the center of the range, flanked by windows that contain louvred vents arranged in a chevron pattern. The interior was not inspected during the survey conducted in June and July 2003.
