Description
The lychgate to the Church of St. Twrog is a late 19th-century structure. It features a gabled design with a timber frame and Gelli Grin stone panelled infill. The posts are chamfered, and each entrance has Tudor arches. The slate roof has feathered eaves and shaped bargeboards supported by shaped brackets.
The eastern entrance, which faces the road, includes timber gates made of alternating tall and short vertical rails. Above this entrance is an inscription that commemorates the 60-year reign of Her Majesty Victoria, Queen and Empress, dated 1897. At the apex of the gable, there is a clock mounted on shaped brackets beneath a pyramidal roof.
This lychgate was built in the late 19th century, around the same time as the adjacent church, and is dated 1897 by the inscription above the entrance.
