Description
Pen-y-Bryn is a small two-storey house featuring a three-window range and a rear wing. Its design reflects a simpler character that aligns more closely with local vernacular traditions than the Georgian style seen in other buildings in Maentwrog from the same period. The house is built from mortared rubble masonry, with large stones used for the quoins and lintels. It has a slate roof with stone slab copings on rough stone kneelers, and rectangular gable stacks that include dripstones and capping. The main elevation faces east towards the road, showcasing a three-window arrangement with a central doorway. The windows are timber casements with two lights, and the first-floor windows are set in gabled half dormers. The windows on the west and north elevations are similarly styled, with a smaller window likely serving a basement or cellar. The interior was not inspected during the survey conducted in June and July 2003.
