Description

Cwm Cloch Uchaf and Cwm Cloch Ganol

Two 2-storey, 2-window farmhouse units adjoining side by side. Both are of rubble construction on boulder foundations and they share a continuous slate roof, a replacement of c1900. End chimneys define the units. Cwm Cloch Uchaf, to the L, has an off-centre entrance with boarded door; to the L is a C19 4-pane sash in a primary opening and the first floor has mid C19 12-pane sashes in primary opening under the eaves; to the R of the entrance is a large modern window. Cwm Cloch Ganol is recessed slightly to the R and follows a similar arrangement with 4-pane sashes flanking a near-central boarded door, with 12-pane sashes above. A contemporary single-storey lean-to adjoins to the rear, occupying the central section of the combined blocks; further boarded door to the R return and a modern 2-pane window to the front face. Under the eaves to the rear are several small primary windows and a 9-pane sash. A later C19 catslide lean-to adjoins to the L, its return flush with the gable of Cwm Cloch Ganol. Cwm Cloch Uchaf has a plain C19 rubble lean-to adjoining its L gable; boarded entrance.

The interior was not inspected at the time of survey.
