Description

Cwm Cloch Uchaf and Cwm Cloch Ganol are two adjoining farmhouse units, each two stories high and featuring two windows. They are built of rubble on boulder foundations and share a continuous slate roof that was replaced around 1900. The end chimneys mark the separation of the two units.

Cwm Cloch Uchaf, located on the left, has an off-centre entrance with a boarded door. To the left of the entrance is a 19th-century four-pane sash window in a primary opening, while the first floor has mid-19th century twelve-pane sashes under the eaves. To the right of the entrance is a large modern window.

Cwm Cloch Ganol is slightly recessed to the right and has a similar layout, with four-pane sashes flanking a nearly central boarded door and twelve-pane sashes above. A contemporary single-storey lean-to is attached to the rear, occupying the central section of the two buildings, featuring another boarded door on the right side and a modern two-pane window on the front. Under the eaves at the rear, there are several small primary windows and a nine-pane sash.

To the left of Cwm Cloch Ganol, there is a later 19th-century catslide lean-to that aligns with the gable of Cwm Cloch Ganol. Cwm Cloch Uchaf also has a plain 19th-century rubble lean-to attached to its left gable, which includes a boarded entrance. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
