Description
Ficerdy is a former vicarage built in a restrained domestic Gothic style. The building features stonework that is roughly coursed in very large blocks and has slate roofs. It is two storeys high with a balanced asymmetrical design that includes a main range flanked by outer wings. The main range has an axial stack and gable-end stacks at the rear of the outer wings. The entrance is located to the right of the main range, which has two 12-pane sash windows to its left. There is a gabled dormer with a similar sash window in the center and a 4-pane sash window to its right. Each outer gabled wing has a 16-pane sash window on the ground floor and a 12-pane sash window above. The left return elevation of the wing features two dormer windows with 12-pane sashes and a 16-pane sash window on the ground floor, while the right return has similar details but only one dormer. The wings include rear outshuts, and an additional outshut from the main range encloses the space between the wings, creating a strikingly symmetrical composition, even in the service area of the house. The building has not been inspected.
