Description
Glanrafon is a linear range of buildings, aligned roughly north-south, that originally consisted of three two-storey cottages, each featuring a two-window layout. At the southern end of the range, there is a single-storey cottage. The structure is made of mortared rubble masonry, with large stones used as quoins and lintels, although some elevations of the main range have been rendered. The roof is slate-covered, and the old cottage has stone copings at the southern gable and a large stone stack at the northern gable, which includes a dripstone and capping that has been raised above the original cap. The main range features narrow rectangular rendered stacks with dripstone and capping, gable stacks, and an additional ridge stack located between the second and third cottages.
The single-storey cottage has its openings offset to the right (south), including a boarded door flanked by small four-pane horned sash windows. The main range has modern glazed doors with shallow overlights; the southern cottage has its doorway on the left, while the two cottages at the northern end mirror each other with doorways at the center. The windows in the main range are 16-pane sashes, slightly recessed with slate sills, while the windows in the right (south) cottage do not have horns.
Inside, the main range has been modernized, but the single-storey cottage retains an inglenook fireplace to the north, featuring a massive chamfered bressumer.
