Description
Tan y Buarth and Prysg is a linear range of cottages, originally consisting of four units, aligned roughly north-south on an upslope. At the southern end, there is a modern single-storey lean-to addition. The main part of the range to the north includes two single-storey cottages on the right (north) and two two-storey cottages. Each cottage features a single window with doorways on the right (north) and stacks on the left. The cottages are constructed from quarried masonry, with large stones used for the quoins and lintels. They have a slate roof with stone copings at the north gable, and stone stacks that include dripstones and capping. Most windows are four-pane sashes with slate sills, while the northernmost window along the range is a paired window of two-pane horned sash windows.
The southern end has been extended by the addition of a single-window cottage, which features tall casement windows, with the first-floor window breaking the eaves line. Access to this southern cottage is through the lean-to porch addition, which has a doorway in the south wall and a window facing east. The gable stack on the left (south) is partially rendered.
The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey.
