Description
The building at Groes Las is likely an outside kitchen that may have originally included a pigsty. It is a single-storey structure built against a slope, featuring rubble walls and a random slate roof with boulder copings on the gables. There is a stack on the lower gable. The doorway is located towards the centre and has a date and the initials D.P.G. inscribed on the lintel, with a tiny window to its right. The pigsty occupies the left section of the building and is accessed at a higher level through a doorway in the upper gable end. Adjacent to the building are the rough remains of an enclosed yard.
Inside, there is a fireplace with an oven next to it at the gable end. A crude pegged collar-beam truss is partly supported by a rough stone wall that separates the kitchen from the pigsty at the higher level. This wall appears to have been added later, although the internal division may have been present from the beginning.
